Executive member of the Caribbean Territorial Council of Toastmasters, where she was the first Council Governor Education and Training. After the Council attained District status in 2006, she served at senior levels including Secretary, Lt Governor Marketing, Lt Governor Education and Training and District Governor from 2010-2011.
Key leader and presenter of the team responsible for introducing the Train the Trainer Workshop at the District 81 2006 October Conference. She has consistently facilitated this initiative at conferences and training activities, the most recent being at the seminar session of the October 2016 Toastmasters Conference in Curacao.
An Educator, Marketing and Insurance Executive with over twenty five (25) years’ experience in the financial services, public sector and education fields, as communication and marketing consultant, assistant vice president, human resource practitioner, director of agencies, sales manager, Shirley is fluent in English and is a teacher of French and Spanish languages. She is also an e-Tutor at the University of the West Indies Open Campus.
She has interacted with the Board of Directors at Crown Eagle Life Insurance Company, the Mona Institute of Business - University of the West Indies and the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica where she was invited to make presentations.
Managed the budget of the company’s branches of over US$1m at Crown Eagle Life Insurance Company - 1995-1997 Managed staff complement of 19 with a budget of over US$250,000 at the Ministry of Local Government (Jamaica) Currently managing a sales team of 24 with a budget of over US$2m at Chancellor Insurance Agency (Jamaica) As a life underwriter for over 30 years, I have helped to guide clients in establishing a balanced financial portfolio.
VOTE SHIRLEY DALEY
Coaching and mentoring students/youth leaders over the last 25 years and working with the disadvantaged in the Church and wider Community in helping to develop and enhance their communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Chairing and participating as a voting member of the MSc. Workforce Training and Education Advisory Committee in the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies - University of Technology, Jamaica by constantly reviewing the study program offered in order to ensure its optimal value and relevance to the academic community and wider society.
Working as a ministry leader in her home Church, for over 20 years, where she led its Youth Leadership Team in formulating and implementing the inaugural 5 year strategic plan. The plan is reviewed annually to ensure support of the goals to be accomplished.
